⚡️ What's New — V5.0 Beta UPDATED MAY 2026

V5 replaces the old render test with a full instanced 3D geometry pipeline — the same type of workload that actually stresses a GPU in real games and applications. The old test drew a single quad and measured frame submission speed, which produced nearly identical scores across very different hardware. The new test is built to matter.

Here's what changed under the hood:

  • 512 instanced objects rendered per frame — each with a unique transform computed in the vertex shader
  • 50 draw calls per frame — stresses CPU-to-GPU command throughput, which varies significantly between integrated and discrete GPUs
  • Blinn-Phong lighting with 3 light sources — real fragment shader math, not a color passthrough
  • Depth testing enabled — proper 3D occlusion, not a flat 2D render
  • Recalibrated scoring tiers — grade thresholds rebuilt from real V5 submission data across 200+ GPUs

Scores from before May 1, 2026 are not comparable to V5 scores — the render component changed too significantly. The leaderboard has been filtered to show V5 results only. This was a major update to how the test functions. Please be aware we're still collecting data to fine-tune the thresholds, so expect minor calibration updates as more GPUs come in.

How It Works

GPU Benchmark Test uses WebGPU — the newest browser graphics API — to run real compute and rendering workloads directly on your graphics card. No software to install, no account to create, and nothing to download. Open the page, hit Run Benchmark, and your score is ready in about 30 seconds.

The test runs in two phases. First, a compute shader test pushes your GPU through heavy parallel math operations — the same kind used in AI rendering, physics simulations, and data processing. Second, a 3D render test draws 512 instanced objects across 50 draw calls per frame, with per-instance transforms, Blinn-Phong lighting across 3 light sources, and full depth testing — the same building blocks used in real game engines. Both scores combine into your final result.

Once complete, your score is saved anonymously to our global database and you instantly see how your GPU ranks as a percentile against thousands of other users — so you know exactly where your card stands.

Why Use GPU Benchmark Test?

Most GPU benchmarks require a download, a Windows install, or an account. GPU Benchmark Test works on any device with WebGPU support — Windows, Mac, Linux, Chromebook, and some mobile browsers. It's the fastest way to get a real performance number with zero hassle.

Whether you just bought a new graphics card, upgraded your laptop, or want to know if your setup can handle a demanding game — this tool gives you an instant, honest answer. Use the GPU comparison tool to stack your card against popular models like the RTX 4070, RX 7800 XT, or Apple M3.

This Advanced Benchmark page offers extended test modes for more accurate results. Quick mode delivers a score in ~15 seconds. Full mode runs a longer workload for a more precise result — useful when validating a new build or overclock.

What Does Your Score Mean?

Your benchmark score reflects raw GPU throughput across compute and 3D rendering workloads. Higher is always faster — scores above 175,000 put you in top-tier territory, 75,000–130,000 is solid mid-range discrete GPU performance, and scores under 12,000 typically reflect integrated graphics or very old dedicated cards. Check the V5 scoring tiers for the full breakdown.

The percentile is often more useful than the raw number alone. Being in the top 10% means your GPU outperforms 90% of tested systems. Check the Leaderboard to explore top scores by GPU model and see where the latest cards land in real-world browser testing.
